Working With An Excellent Attorney

About a year ago, I realized that my spouse was cheating on me. I didn't know what to do, but I realized that I needed to work with an attorney to identify my options. I called a friend of mine who worked as a general attorney, and he started evaluating my case right away. He talked with me about what I noticed from my spouse, what I wanted out of the divorce, and when I wanted to proceed. With the help of my lawyer, I was able to get what was fair in court, which made it easier to move on. Check out this website to find interesting articles about working with a lawyer.

Ensuring A Motorist Does Not Leave The Scene After Hitting Your Vehicle

If you have an incident occur where a vehicle slams into yours when you are leaving a business parking lot, you are likely to be extremely upset over the situation. Ensuring you get the pertinent information needed to give to your insurance company will become a priority. Here are some steps you can take to ensure the other driver does not try to leave the scene without giving you the information you need.

Beep Your Horn After The Incident

To ensure others in the area had seen what had happened, beep your horn a few times after the other vehicle makes impact with yours. This will alert others in the area that there was an incident, helping you to retain possible witnesses to the accident as a result. The loud noise your vehicle makes will also make it less likely that the other driver will try taking off from the area as they will be noticed doing so by others nearby.

Get On The Phone Immediately

As soon as the accident occurs, it is a good idea to get on the phone with the local police to alert them of the situation. The other motorist will see you on the phone, making them less likely to try to leave the scene, as they will assume you are calling authorities about the situation. Call for an ambulance to be dispatched to the scene to rule out extensive injuries sustained from the incident as well. If you fail to see a medical professional at this time, you will lose the chance in proving the accident was the reasoning for any injuries sustained, as there will be no proof in how they had occurred once you leave the scene yourself.

Whip Out Your Cell Phone

If you have a passenger in your vehicle, ask them to take photographs of the other vehicle with a cell phone while you are on the phone calling for assistance. If you are solo, you will need to wait to do this step until after you get a hold of authorities. Make sure to snap a photo of the license plate of the vehicle in addition to the person who had caused the accident, if possible. This may need to be done on the sly so they are not upset. Afterward, take pictures of the damage your own vehicle had sustained from the accident as well as the surroundings. Click here to learn more about personal injury attorneys in your area.
